An award-winning café, built on a wholesale partnership
When Bija set out to bring authentic Indonesian coffee culture to central London, the founders needed a UK trade supplier who could do two things at once: source and roast rare Indonesian single origins to speciality grade, and specify commercial equipment capable of holding quality through a relentless West End rush.
The challenge
A new café in one of London's highest-footfall districts has no margin for error. Bija needed dependable weekly supply of Sumatran Mandheling and Java Arabica beans, roasted fresh rather than pulled from stock, plus an espresso machine that could keep shot quality identical from the first flat white of the morning to the last.
What we supplied
Our trade team specified and installed a La Marzocco KB90 commercial espresso machine, chosen for its speed of workflow and shot-to-shot consistency under sustained volume. Alongside it, we built a roasted-to-order supply schedule of Indonesian single origins from our Guildford roastery, timed so every delivery lands at peak freshness. Bija also uses our white label service, retailing beans under their own branding without touching production or fulfilment.
