Description

El Salvador Diamante Green Coffee Beans offer a clean and bright coffee experience with a balanced acidity and smooth body. Grown in the high-altitude regions of Sierra Apaneca, Ilamatepec, and the Santa Ana and Izalco volcanoes, these beans are known for their consistent quality and rich flavours. Ideal for home roasters looking to explore Central American coffees with a well-rounded and nuanced profile.

El Salvador Diamante Origin and Details

  • Country: El Salvador
  • Region: Sierra Apaneca, Ilamatepec, Santa Ana and Izalco Volcanoes
  • Altitude: 1,350 meters above sea level
  • Variety: Bourbon, Pacas, Catimor
  • Processing Method: Washed, sun and mechanically dried
  • Harvest Period: January - March

Processing Method and Quality Control

The beans are washed and sun-dried or mechanically dried, ensuring uniformity and consistency in the cup. The high altitudes and volcanic soil contribute to the beans' unique flavour profile. The beans are strictly high grown (SHG), meaning they develop slowly at higher altitudes, resulting in a denser and more flavourful bean.

Potential Flavour Notes and Characteristics

These green beans, when roasted, develop a chocolatey base with hints of orange and a subtle sweetness. The bright acidity and smooth body create a balanced cup that is perfect for those who appreciate the distinct flavours of Central American coffees.

Benefits of Home Coffee Roasting

Roasting El Salvador Diamante green beans at home provides the opportunity to customise the roast level. Lighter roasts will highlight the citrus brightness, while medium to darker roasts will deepen the chocolate and sweet undertones, offering a range of flavours to suit any palate.

Important Disclaimer

These are green, unroasted coffee beans and are not suitable for direct grinding or coffee-making. They must be roasted first before they can be brewed and enjoyed as coffee.

Lovely as always

This is my third or fourth 1kg bag of green coffee beans I've bought from Redber. I've only done one roast out of these ones so far but they taste delicious dark roasted in a pan! Just done my second roast and I'm looking forward to my morning coffee! Speedy service and tasty beans as always. Thanks very much!

Really good green coffee

We really loved this green coffee when roasted. We chose a medium roast in order to maximise the flavour. It would have been given five stars but the flavour and body been a little fuller.

El Salvadore Diamante

Ordered 10kg of green coffee beans and delivered within 2 days. This is the second decent sized order i've had from Redber and each time when I check the shipment for foreign objects i've found none to hurt my roaster or my grinder. Superb service and products.

First time purchase

Great tasting beans, I have tried a couple of different roasts so far using a small hob based roaster. Excellent service from the company and quick delivery, even given the current global situation. I would definitely order again

El Salvador Diamante - green beans

Bought some of these in my first order from Redber ( with Brazil yellow catuai ) very pleasant coffee, I thought I caught a whiff of oranges when drinking it sometimes ! ( may have been the power of suggestion though)

Fantastic Coffee

Great flavour and roasts well.
Not a lot of throw away in the quality control prior to roasts (a few beans per ~200g of green)
