Description
Description
Peru Swiss Water Decaf Green Coffee Beans are ideal for home roasters who want a smooth, naturally sweet decaffeinated coffee without compromising on flavour. This coffee is grown by members of the Sol y Café Co-operative, a group of over 1,000 smallholder farmers from the Cajamarca, San Ignacio, and Jaén regions in northern Peru.
Grown at high altitude between 1,500 and 2,000 metres above sea level, these 100% Arabica beans include varieties such as Mundo Novo, Caturra, Typica, and Catimor. After harvesting, the beans are carefully graded before being decaffeinated using the Swiss Water® Process, a chemical-free method that gently removes caffeine while preserving the coffee’s natural character.

Processing Method and Quality Control
The Swiss Water® Process uses pure water, temperature, and time to remove caffeine without the use of chemical solvents. This gentle decaffeination method helps maintain the coffee’s natural flavour, body, and aroma, producing a clean and balanced cup with no chemical aftertaste.
The beans are carefully selected and prepared before decaffeination to ensure quality and consistency, making them a reliable choice for home coffee roasting.
Potential Flavour Notes and Characteristics
When roasted, Peru Swiss Water Decaf Green Coffee Beans can produce a smooth, balanced cup with notes of chocolate, nuts, and raisin. The coffee has a pleasing body and gentle sweetness, making it well suited to medium and medium-dark roast profiles
Benefits of Home Coffee Roasting
Roasting Peru Swiss Water Decaf green beans at home allows you to control the roast level and freshness. A medium roast can bring out the nutty sweetness and raisin-like character, while a darker roast will develop deeper chocolate notes and a fuller body. This is a great option for anyone who enjoys experimenting with roast profiles while still wanting a naturally decaffeinated coffee.
Important Disclaimer
These are green, unroasted coffee beans and are not suitable for direct grinding or coffee-making. They must be roasted first before they can be brewed and enjoyed as coffee.
