Description

Colombia Swiss Water Decaf Green Coffee Beans offer a rich and full-bodied flavour without the caffeine. Sourced from high-altitude farms in Colombia, these beans are decaffeinated using the Swiss Water® Process, a 100% chemical-free method that preserves the beans' natural flavours. With a profile that retains the chocolatey and caramel notes characteristic of Colombian coffee, these beans provide an exceptional decaf option for home roasters.

Colombia Swiss Water Decaf Origin and Details

  • Country: Colombia
  • Region: Various high-altitude regions
  • Altitude: Over 1,200 meters above sea level
  • Variety: Castillo, Caturra, Colombia
  • Processing Method: Washed, Swiss Water Decaf

Processing Method and Quality Control

The Swiss Water® Process uses pure water and osmosis to gently remove caffeine while maintaining the beans' distinctive flavours. This method ensures a clean cup with no chemical aftertaste. The beans are carefully selected and washed to enhance their natural characteristics, resulting in a well-balanced and flavourful decaf coffee.

Potential Flavour Notes and Characteristics

Roasting these green beans reveals flavours of dark chocolate, caramel, roasted apple, and a hint of lemon. They offer a smooth body with a bright acidity and a clean, pleasant aroma. The balanced profile makes it a favourite for those who love decaf but don’t want to compromise on flavour.

Benefits of Home Coffee Roasting

Roasting Colombia Swiss Water Decaf green beans at home lets you tailor the roast to your taste. A lighter roast will highlight the bright citrus notes, while a darker roast will enhance the deep chocolate and caramel flavours.

Important Disclaimer

These are green, unroasted coffee beans and are not suitable for direct grinding or coffee-making. They must be roasted first before they can be brewed and enjoyed as coffee.

Beans were so hard the trashed my coffee machine

Beans were so hard they trashed my coffee machine and I had to buy a replacement for £600. Didn’t realise it was the beans that caused it as original coffee machine was quite old and had been playing up a little bit. Tried beans in new coffee machine and it clogged up the hopper and stoped new machine working. Managed to strip down hopper and unclogged. Could not break bean with my teeth unlike a normal coffee bean that will break.
