Product Description — Mahlkönig EK43 Commercial Grinder

The Mahlkönig EK43 has long stood as the undisputed queen of coffee grinders in the specialty coffee world, delivering unmatched performance, reliability, and grind consistency across a wide range of brew methods. Its iconic design and precision engineering make it a favourite among high-volume cafés, roasteries, and specialty coffee bars worldwide.

At the heart of the EK43 is its 98 mm premium cast steel burr set, engineered for extremely uniform particle size distribution, enabling even extraction and exceptional flavour clarity whether grinding for espresso, filter, cold brew, or other specialty preparations. With its powerful 1300 W motor and stepless grind adjustment, the EK43 delivers professional-grade results with ease and precision.

Regular EK43 (Standard Coffee Burrs)

The standard EK43 is optimised for a broad range of grinds — from fine espresso through to coarse filter coffee — with excellent control and consistency. Its stepless adjustment system allows baristas to fine-tune grind size for any brewing method, ensuring even extraction and exceptional flavour clarity. Whether used for back-to-back espresso service or large-batch filter grinding, the EK43 is built to perform under demanding commercial conditions.

EK43 Turkish Variant (Turkish-Fine Burrs)

For ultra-fine grinding applications such as Turkish coffee, the EK43 can be equipped with a Turkish burr set featuring specially optimised tooth geometry. This variant produces an extremely fine, powder-like grind while maintaining the legendary uniformity of the EK43 platform. It is ideal for coffee shops and specialty setups that offer Turkish coffee alongside standard brew styles.

Key Features
  • Legendary 98 mm premium cast steel burrs for exceptional grind uniformity and extraction quality.
  • Stepless grind adjustment for precise control across all grind sizes.
  • High performance and robust build designed for heavy commercial use.
  • Capable of grinding for espresso, filter, and Turkish fine coffee with appropriate burr configuration.
  • Low retention design helps preserve aroma and flavour integrity.
Why Choose the EK43

The EK43’s outstanding particle size distribution enables higher extraction efficiency and flavour clarity compared with many conventional grinders. Its versatility and performance have made it a benchmark in the specialty coffee industry — equally suited to busy café environments and precision-oriented brew labs looking to extract the fullest expression of every coffee bean.

Do you provide installation and servicing?

Installation and ongoing servicing are available UK-wide. Tell us your site details when you enquire and we will include it in your quote.

Specified, supplied and installed by our own team in Surrey. Every machine is sold alongside the roasted-to-order coffee that runs through it.

What installation covers

  • Delivery to UK mainland and positioning at the point of installation
  • Connection to the water and power supply already in place
  • Commissioning, pressure and temperature checks
  • Dialling in on your own coffee
  • Handover and daily cleaning walkthrough with your team

Not included

  • Plumbing: new water feeds, waste runs, or moving an existing supply
  • Electrical work: new circuits, isolators, or supply upgrades
  • Counter cutting, worktop alteration or structural work

Water and power must already be present at the machine's position. We do not carry out plumbing or electrical work — your site needs a suitable supply ready before we arrive.

Frequently asked questions

Can we buy this machine online?

Machines priced under £5,000 can be bought straight through checkout. Above that we quote, because the specification, siting and installation need agreeing before the machine is ordered.

Do you install the machine?

Yes. Installation and commissioning can be added to your order on espresso and bean to cup machines. We position the machine, connect it to the water and power already at the installation point, commission it, dial it in on your coffee and walk your team through daily cleaning. We do not carry out plumbing or electrical work.

What needs to be ready before installation?

A suitable water supply and power at the machine's final position, plus clear access on the day. If either needs new work, your own plumber or electrician handles that beforehand.

Can you train our staff?

Yes. Barista training can be added to your order on espresso machines, run on site on your own machine and your own coffee, covering extraction and dialling in, milk technique, workflow and daily cleaning.

Can we lease rather than buy?

Yes. Lease pricing is shown on machines where it applies, and the agreement itself is arranged by our corporate team.

Who services the machine afterwards?

Servicing and maintenance agreements are handled by our corporate team, who look after machine estates across multi-site accounts.
